The commission of the portrait was a gift from Empress Celene to Inquisitor Lavellan, as a token of thank you for his actions in Halamshiral in 9:41.
Since the Exalted Council of 9:45, it’s been displayed in the Great Cathedral of Val Rouyeaux. Many say this depiction is scandalous: a savage Dalish, proudly displaying his markings and ears while wearing the Andrastian Inquisition crown?
Many more seem to be instead drawn to this symbol of change, human and elf alike. Even after its partial disbanding, the Inquisition, and its leader, remains very popular in Orlais.
