In DA:I, Morrigan in her “expertise” says she doesn’t understand why a statue of Fen’Harel would be in the Temple of Mythal. Lavellan responds by saying that their clan erected statues of Fen’Harel to ward off bad spirits; Zathrian’s clan also seems to do this. (Morrigan than says she “though the ancient elves above quaint superstitions.” 🙄)

There is also a landmark in the Exalted Plains of a shrine to Fen’Harel; “Offering to the Dread Wolf,” in which Genitivi suspects the Dalish seek to appease him.

Whatever the reasoning may be, it’s evident that the Dalish do in fact, honour Fen’Harel like any other of the elven pantheon.

So it really doesn’t make sense for people to write Lavellans as hating Fen’Harel to me. Fearing, perhaps. But Merrill shows they also have some fear of Mythal…

Fear and hate are two different things.
